Painting "Autumn walk" in acrylic paints.

Hello, everyone! I was asked ones to show step by step painting. Here I put my steps. I was able to make photos practically in the end of each session and I was able to work with this painting about 1-1,5 hours every day. Anyway: here it is.

Step1. Scetch.

I am always doing scetches using watercolor pencils. I found that watercolor pencils blend very well with paint and I don't have problems to cover it with layers and layers of paint.

Idea of the painting - to paint autumn in the park, very good day and men walking there with the dog. I want to make happy painting.

This is canvas panel 14"x18". I use photo made by my brother in Moscow region as idea of the landscape. You can see it here: http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c365/herrerojulia/029.jpg

But I will not copy everything and I will invent many things by myself.

For the dog I found photo on the site http://www.photosight.ru

You can see this photo here: http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c365/herrerojulia/686035.jpg

I invent man by myself. Actually this idea remind me my life in Russia many years ago.

Step2. Working with the sky.

I started first layer of the sky using blue, white and yelow paints.

I worked more with the sky making clouds and trees far in distance.

Step3. Covering rest of canvas with underpainting.

I didn't like the man. I thought he was too big for such distance. Later I will scetch him again.

Step4. Working with background, distant trees.

Here I started work more detailed with background. Paited trees, bushes, shadowy places in distance.

If something looks to detailed or too contrast, later I will cover it with thing washes in order to discribe depth better.

Step 5. Continue working covering canvas.

You can see that here I worked more with idea of painting, scetched bushes, trees on right and left sides of painting.

I decided that light is coming from the right. So  - in the left side trees are more bright and vibrant. Also I scetched light and shadows on the road and bushes.

Step 6. Changing some colors.

I didn't like green in background. I changed it. More work with the trees. I have ni idea now how much they will be covered...

Also scetched darks on bushes.

Step 7.Start with foreground trees.

First of all I made scetch of trees again with watercolor pencils. Painted trees on the right, shadows and lights.

Worked more developing bushes.

Step8. Adding more trees.

Trees, darks and lights, bushes, shadows, looking for right tones. Start leaves on the foreground.

Step9. Working with trees on the left.

As you could see - first was scetch.

Step 10. More trees and bushes.

I added  more trees. I worked with foreground leaves and shadows and lights. Developed bushes more.

That was actually most difficult part for me!!! Added some grass on the left.

Step 11. Happy dog.

Dog - dog -dog!!!! And bushes... And leaves again...  Shadows, lights - 100 times I did very thing washes looking for right color.

Almost there... Only man is left. I need to make scetch.

So... is coming...

Step 12. Finish.

I added a man, worked more with leaves on ground, put more earthy colors on dog making it not too out of painting.

I hope, you like it!
